Welcome to the Illinois App

Being at the University of Illinois is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming – so many people, so many buildings, so many possibilities! With the Illinois app, you can get the information you need, when you need, it, all at your fingertips. Whether it’s finding your way to class, finding a wonderful place to eat, or starting a study group, the Illinois app has you covered.

What Is the Illinois App?

The Illinois app is the university’s official campus app. The app is built here at the University of Illinois for the whole university community: student body, faculty and staff, alumni and visitors. The Illinois app is part of the Rokwire project, led by the Smart, Healthy, Communities Initiative. The app has many contributors from all parts of campus, including faculty, staff and students.

What’s New in Illinois App 4.0?

  • Favorites – Create your own customized home screen with your preferred resources right on top.
  • Browse – Improved access to all app features.
  • New Wellness Tools – Create Daily Wellness Rings to encourage new habits; get organized with the new To-Do List
  • App Navigation – Quickly access central features such as Maps, Academics, and Wellness resources.
  • Building Access – This feature has been removed due to changes in university policy.

What Happened to the Building Access Pass?

As of August 2022, the university has discontinued the building access requirement for COVID-19. For this reason, the Building Access pass has been removed from the Illinois app.

You can still access your Illini ID in the app’s Wallet. And links to COVID-19 resources, such as MyMcKinley and Test Site Locations are still provided in the app’s Campus Guide.

You can read about this change, and get answers to other questions, on our FAQs page.
