Let’s Make Illini ID Scanning a Thing

Did you know that some places on campus will scan the QR code on your Illini ID in the Illinois app in place of your i-card? While your i-card is your official ID for the university and you should always carry it with you, sometimes it’s faster and easier to use your phone.

The i-card will give you access to these services:

• Meal plans
• Library services
• Campus Recreation
• Door access
• McKinley Health Center
• Local bus service
• Illini Cash campus debit
• Discounts

Right now, you can scan your Illini ID on the Illinois app at Campus Recreation and show your Bus Pass on the app to board any MTD bus. 

Your i-card will also give you access to exclusive discounts. Check out how you can save some money by showing your i-card at various businesses around Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, and Springfield. 

Facilities all around campus are exploring ways to scan your phone so you don’t have to swipe your i-card anymore, so stay tuned for updates!
