Requirements

If you don’t see your Building Access pass on the home screen, double-check these requirements.

To display your Building Access status, you must:

  • Set your Privacy to Level 4 or higher. (Browse > Privacy > Manage and Understand Your Privacy)
  • Sign in to the app with your NetID.
  • Set your profile to University Student or University Employee (Home > Personalize this app > Who You Are)
  • Connect to the internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data.
  • Run Illinois app v3.1.11 or later.

Notes:

  • If your Privacy Level is set to to 3 or lower, you will not be able to sign in with your NetID. Instead, the Building Access button will send you to the Boarding Pass website. You will need to sign in to the Boarding Pass website each time you access it.
  • If your i-card has expired, you will not be able to display your Illini ID with Building Access. Please contact the Urbana ID Center to renew your i-card.
  • If you can’t get the Building Access to show in the Illinois app, we recommend that you use the Boarding Pass web app alternative.

2. SIGN IN WITH YOUR NETID

To show your Illini ID in the app, you need to sign in with your NetID.

  1. First, set your Privacy Level to 4 or 5 to enable the app to connect your NetID. Tap Settings > Privacy Center > Manage and Understand Your Privacy.
  2. Then connect your NetID either on the Home Screen or in Settings > Connect your NetID. Tap Connect your NetID and sign in.
