Animal Enthusiasts Spread Joy on Groups

Everyone could use a little respite from the Big Sad, and many looked no further than joining a quirky animal-centric group on the Illinois app. Obviously, the best way to disengage oneself from the desolation of humanity is to stare directly into a kaleidoscope of cute animal photos. You won’t hear me argue with that reasoning.

But with so many Illinois Groups dedicated to residence halls, music buffs, and apparently “ur mom,” students felt there was a gap in the Groups marketplace just waiting to be filled with furry and feathered little chunks of joy. No word yet on a group dedicated to our scaly or amphibious friends, but it’s only a matter of time. Get on that, please!

If you need a little joy in your life, get on Groups and check out Birds on Campus, Illini Squirrel Enthusiasts and UIUC Doggos for photos of your favorite critters. You won’t be disappointed – not that these titles could really set you up for disappointment, you know?

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Gus (just Gus!), a group dedicated to a void kitty with a fan club…Gus. Don’t be fooled by the name, though. You can post any pictures of any of your favorite black cats – they don’t even have to be called Gus. How delightful.

Now, go get on Groups for your daily boost of serotonin.

And seriously, someone go start up a group for geckos. I know you’ve got some cute geckos out there.
